Where Are They Now? An Update from the Class of 2006

As we continue our alumni series, “Where Are They Now,” travel in time with us as we follow our graduates on their journeys and discover how An Achievable Dream made a positive impact on their lives. Also featured in this series are each graduating class’s sponsor to share their inspiration for supporting their class and a reflection from AAD president and CEO, Dr. Lee Vreeland, on each alumni. In this feature, we are highlighting class of 2006 graduate, Travis Jones.

Tell us where you are, what you’re doing now, and the accomplishment or life milestones you’re most proud of!

I am currently a full-time training coordinator for Simplisafe Inc., owner of Trendz Nation LLC, and co-owner of Goldencloud757. I am also a happy father and husband.

What about An Achievable Dream do you feel most prepared you for the career and life you have now?

AAD prepared me for life in various ways. The teachers at AAD were a great example for becoming an adult, understanding leadership skills, and how to adapt to change, because as an adult, change is constantly taking place. It has also shown me the truth that nothing can be achieved without enthusiasm. I always look to do things with good energy and to make a positive impact on others.

What is next for you?

I have so many partnerships, plans and goals for the future. I currently own a consulting company Trendz Nation LLC. I am also a co-owner of an online store, GoldenCloud757. I am looking to scale my business by networking and building strong relationships while supporting my community through personal and financial development.

Now, you will read a reflection from our President and CEO, Dr. Lee Vreeland on Travis’s journey.

When I think about Travis I can’t help but smile. In the middle and high school, I wasn’t sure if it was possible for Travis to take anything serious! He was always joking and being playful, but he always succeeded in the classroom, on the tennis court, and on the football field. In hindsight, I think humor was the way Travis handled what was thrown at him. It has been one of my greatest pleasures to watch Travis navigate adulthood. Not only does he have a successful career and has become a successful entrepreneur, he has a beautiful wife and family. He’s never lost that smile, laugh, and personality that draws you to him. I can’t wait to see what is next!
